Home Is Where the Heart Is

Proverbs 24:3-4

By wisdom a house is built and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

Proverbs 24:27

Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready, after that build your house.

You know the old saying “Home is where the heart is” well it really is true.  If your heart is not into making a home, for yourself and your family than you will not fill at peace.  You must surrender your hearts desires to the Lord and ask him to guide your heart so that you can live for him in love and peace and share his love with others.

When I bought my home I started to build it up with Zeal but as my heart became lost the building up of the home slowed down.  I was lacking in wisdom and my heart became lost.  I asked the Lord to take my heart and keep it until the one he made for me arrives at my doorstep with his army of men and charity (Song of Songs 3:6-11).  I know it will not be exactly like that but a woman can dream.

Build your home with all the love of Jesus by renewing your mind everyday with time alone with the Lord, and then plan out your to do list to keep your thoughts organized and accomplish them by importance but don’t work all day take time out for family especially on the weekend.  I do make an effort to not work on Sunday’s at all; it is the Lords day of rest. However a few things must be done like tidying up the kitchen after meals and maybe a little laundry if your behind but those are things that you can do in between reading a book by yourself or with your kids or going out for a day at the park.

As I build my home I know it is an investment that can lead to my other goals such as buying a few acres to build a custom home and studio with a white fence and have a few beautiful horses of my own. Of course this is a slow process and must be built up with wisdom but I am willing to take the slow steps with the Lord as I have been doing for the last few years.

When you find balance in your home you find that it is truly a place you can find peace, love and rest.
