A Woman of Proverbs

Proverbs 31:27

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

I was asked by a coworker after stating my to-do list for the weekend, if I ever just say “Hey its Saturday I am going to get a couple of movies, a bag of cheetos, and curl up on the couch.”  Of course I had to laugh because Sela asked me the something similar, “Why do you lways have to do something?”  The truth is I am not a big fan of just laying around especially alone.  Curling up with a book once in awhile or watching HGTV is something I enjoy when the rest is needed and deserved.

If you sit around too much and watch too much television your thoughts will soon cause your emotions to take over your actions. If you are alone you may start singing the blues, “Oh my darlin, oh my darlin…”   An easy way to prevent your day from being ruined by things you can not control is by working it out through cleaning, redecorating, yard work, exercising, and/or completing a to-do list.  I write a to-do list almost everyday just to make sure I do not forget to do something important or chores do not pile up on me.  Women whom have children also have to add spending time with their children such as playtime and learning time. I am not a workaholic I just like to be productive until I can’t be productive any more.  However, relaxing can be a great way to get out of your own way in solving an issue or problem.

In everything you do and say ask Jesus to guide you.  God’s way leads you out of the despair of darkness and into the light of love.
